We like to play what part we can in athletes achieving top results in Olympic sports to bring some of that joy to Estonia and to increase the recognition of the country’s sportsmen and sportswomen around the world. We personally prefer sports that have a timeless quality to them, that require endurance, and that share a team spirit.
ERGO’s II world championships in discus
On September 18, 2008 in the Kadrioru Stadium for the title of the best disc throw country in the world the athletes of six countries and the symbolic selected world team will be competing.
 The participating countries have been invited on the basis of the current world ranking list, adding the results of the three best men. In Tallinn as the competitors of the Estonian team the selected teams of USA, Spain, Germany, Poland and Hungary can be seen. In case the world ranking list changes, also the participation of the Russian or Ukrainian teams can be possible.
In the Estonian team the Peking Olympic gold winner Gerd Kanter, theAthens Olympic bronze Aleksander Tammert and Märt Israel will be competing. The captain of the selected world team is the double Olympic winner and the world champion Virgilijus Alekna from Lithuania.
As the supporter of the competition ERGO offers its clients to go and see the competitions for free, showing only the insurance policy. The revenues received from the ticket sales of the competition and the donations of the supporters-spectators the organizers and supporters of the competition will donate to the Pelgulinna Maternity Hospital Support Fund. ERGO Kindlustus and the organizers invite everybody to be present at the last major event in track and field sports in this year and the triumph of one of the most successful sports of Estonia in the home stadium.
