ERGO’s world championships in discus
On 27 September 2007 ERGO will be helping to crown the world’s best discus nation at the ERGO World Championships to be held at Kadriorg stadium in Tallinn.
 Athletes from six countries are in the running for the title, as well as a symbolic ‘rest of the world’ team. Competing for the title against Estonia in Tallinn will be teams from the United States, Russia, Germany, Poland and Ukraine. Should there be any changes in the rankings, Finnish, Hungarian and/or Iranian teams may also take part.
The Estonian squad will include world champion Gert Kanter, Athens Olympics bronze medallist Aleksander Tammert and Märt Israel. The ‘rest of the world’ team will boast two-time Olympic and world champion Virgilijus Alekna from Lithuania, Mario Pestano from Spain and Estonia’s own junior world champion Margus Hunt. We can ensure an exciting day!
For the first time in Estonia, ERGO clients will have the opportunity to attend the event free of charge, simply by showing their insurance policy at the gate.
The organisers of the event will be giving profits from ticket sales and donations from supporters and the crowd to the Pelgulinna Maternity Ward Support Fund. |
